Jane Cartney is a professional
singer, teacher and choral conductor, who, in addition to performing
engagements in oratorio, recital, and with her jazz quartet,
runs a private teaching practice in Weston-super-Mare.
She provides private tuition in singing for pupils, usually
from the age of 16 upwards, including adults who are beginners,
as well as Specialised coaching for advanced amateur and professional
singers in both performance, and the practical use of languages
in singing.
Superior studio facilities
are provided with a Steinway grand piano and an extensive
library of recordings, specialist books and scores is
available for pupils’ use during their studies.
Pupils are encouraged to make use of the library facility. |

Entrance
for Singing Examinations.
Some pupils will wish to enter for examinations in singing and
theory. Suitable candidates will be prepared for entrance to
examinations run by The Associated Board Of The Royal Schools
of Music.
Competitive Music Festivals.
Pupils are encouraged to enter competitions. Most major towns
hold competitive music festivals. A number of different classes
are offered, e.g. Oratorio, Italian Song, German Lieder, Folk
Song etc, for which certificates of achievement, and prizes
in some cases, are awarded.
Performance Opportunities.
Pupils are encouraged to perform in front of others and small
concerts are arranged from time to time at Jane Cartney’s
Music Studio in Weston-super-Mare for all pupils to participate
in. All pupils are encouraged to take part in these concerts,
to which friends and relations can be invited.
